At Isaiah 43:12, Jehovah said to His fleshly nation of Israel, "You are my witnesses." After Christ's death, the literal Jewish nation was cast off as God's chosen people, (Matt. 21:43) and Jehovah now allowed Gentiles to join those Jews who accepted Christ as the Messiah, to become part of the 'Israel of God'. (Galatians 6:16) At Acts 1:8, Jesus told members of the 'Israel of God' that they would witnesses of him, to the most distant parts of the earth! Following this, Acts 11:26 tells us that God Almighty chose the name for this 'new nation' who would be followers of His son Christ Jesus - Christians! However, in the early 20th Century, a man decided to change this God-given name, to one of his own choosing and interpretation. Reasoning on the Scriptures above, which name is more appropriate?

Great Crowd & Earth Questions
by turtleturtle inrevelation 20:7-9.
7now as soon as the thousand years have been ended, satan will be let loose out of his prison,8and he will go out to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth, gog and magog, to gather them together for the war.
the number of these is as the sand of the sea.9and they advanced over the breadth of the earth and encircled the camp of the holy ones and the beloved city.

We can only express our personal reasonings - as imperfect humans. But the Scripture says that our thoughts and ways are far removed from God's ways and thinking, (Isa. 55:8,9) so what I reason on here (which disagrees with one of your statements) may also be wrong, but it makes sense to me in relation to the God I worship.
You; " so we know God is waiting until the very last minute so that the very last possible person to be saved can be saved";
My reasoning is this - the population of the earth increases annually by approx. 75 - 90 million. How many of those new lives accept the ransom sacrifice and bring their lives into harmony with God's standards - 20%, 10%, 5% 1%?
Who knows? The point is this, there will always be someone born who will want to serve God, but the vast majority won't!
And if you read 2 Thess. 1:6-9, you can see what the outcome is going to be for all those who reject the Christ and his rulership.
So the Almighty is allowing countless millions to be born - only to destroy them, just for the sake of a handfull of worshippers who may show up????
I don't think the end is being delayed - it has been set, and it will come regardless of our personal reasonings or conjecture.

The Christ Not Invisibly Present in 1914!
by wannabe inwas the christ really invisibly present in 1914?
would it not be reasonable, for a religious organization, that makes this following claim, that to them alone the bible is not a sealed book; that also makes the claim, that they are, "jehovah's spirit directed organization," to actually miss seeing that it is impossible for the christ to be invisibly present in the year 1914?
notice what they themselves will tell you about god's sacred word, the bible, as follows:

Can I play 'Devil's Advocate here?
With regard to Christ's presence, the standard answer (which is unscriptural & ludicrous in the extreme!!) is this;
Christ came in 1919 to cleanse the temple and to select a 'faithful slave class', then he went away again - for circa 100 years give or take - but then he will come back again, this time to finish the job on a global scale!
Teaching 'traditions of men' invalidates God's Word!!
Test the inspired expression - to see if it originates with God!!

20 Questions
by Terry inlet's say there is a new law.. once each year the leader(s) of any religious group have to answer 20 questions in public on tv posed by their critics.. twenty questions are allowed for a one hour presentation.. of course, we would expect softball answers.
except for one thing: the questioner can press a "bullshit" button!.
that would mean the question is repeated and another answer was called for.

Are your writings & teachings inspired by God?

I Thing Being Friends With My Jehovah Witness Friend is Taking A Mental Toll On Me?
by TheNurseInBlack ineverything was great untill about two years ago untill she realized i wasn't a jehovah witness.
i didn't notice it before but now i noticed the next day she began to give me verses about the "truth".
it recently got worse with her religious debates lately i've been able to prove her wrong with most of them.

Sorry to contradict the generalisation being made by some here, but I do not fit into the "mould" which most Witnesses accept as presented to them.
I have been very close friends with a non-practicing Catholic for many years. He is closer to me and more trustworthy than even my Body of Elders - a group of men whom I would not trust as far as I could throw!!
And for any lurkers who question my assessment of them, it is based on them closing ranks when confronted by one their fellow elder's serious wrongdoing; reaction - sweep it under the carpet, no JC, and not even a Public Reproof!!!
By their fruits you will know them.

Service on holidays= unannounced visitors
by Honeybucket inits thanksgiving- that means all those who went out in service today come over to harrass those who are "spiritually weak".. 2 car groups have already stopped by, plus they said the co is going to stop by this afternoon.... they first off, dont call before they stop by and then they bring the whole car group in.. i have gotten texts from witnesses hoping to see me at meeting tonight since the co is in town.. why dont they just do some door-to-door?
if you dont want to do that on a holiday, dont go out in service!.
dont come and bug me because you dont want to knock on doors of "wordly" people.. witnesses feel they have the right to intrude in your life at anytime.

As a Witness, I never have and never will do Field Service on Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day, regardless of the circumstances or who says it is a "good time" to do so.
IMHO, I am observing Christ's Golden Rule by not disturbing people at these times. It is rude and inconsiderate not to allow people who are totally absorbed in their annual festivities a respite from our calls. It's only 4 days out of the year - give them a break and it will give a better impression of what we are about!

Just a little comment on a Scripture which both the Society and my brothers and sisters would rather not discuss, let alone ponder on, because perhaps it just might burst a little bubble regarding a deceased relative who totally rejected a belief in God & Christ's ransom; "as he brings vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who donotobey the good news about our Lord Jesus. These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength...." (2 Thessalonians 1:8,9)
Six Scriptures tell us that Christ will be the judge, but based on Paul's words, I don't hold out any hope of seeing my grandfather in the resurrection. (if I'm there!!) He was dead against anything to do with the Bible. We'll see.

Sorry for not explaining accurately what I meant; on the Watchtower Library, if you want to find every article which covers a particular Scripture, you go to the Bible and find the verse, e.g. Matt. 24:14.
You simply click on the verse number (14) and all the references will appear.
Try it with Romans 6:7, and see what happens - no references to that Watchtower!
